From October 10-12, the Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb hosted 130 IMAP M&A and corporate finance experts from 36 countries to explore the impact of current geopolitical and macroeconomic conditions on the resilient middle-market M&A sector.
The conference featured renowned guest speakers, including Aco Momčilović, owner of Future HR Consulting and President at the Global AI Ethics Institute, who emphasized how AI and workforce skills are transforming the industry. Boris Vujčić, Governor of the Croatian National Bank, highlighted the benefits of Croatia’s euro adoption during challenging times. Krisztián Orbán, Founder of Oriens, provided insights into global political shifts, while Oleksiy Rashchupkin, Managing Partner at Altius Capital, addressed M&A recovery in Ukraine amid the war.
In addition to expert presentations, internal panel discussions among IMAP’s global industry, debt advisory, and marketing teams fostered international collaboration. The event concluded with a gala dinner at Lauba, where attendees enjoyed traditional Croatian cuisine and music by acclaimed virtuosos Tihomir Hojsak (double bass) and Filip Novosel (tambura) .
In a charitable gesture, IMAP donated to the Ana Rukavina Foundation, supporting the Croatian Bone Marrow Donors Registry in lieu of attendee gifts, reflecting the organization’s commitment to meaningful causes.
IMAP also recognized Sergio Milic, from South Andes Capital – IMAP Chile, for his 12 years of leadership on the IMAP Executive Board. Marcio Fiuza from Brasilpar – IMAP Brazil will succeed him as IMAP Secretary.
The next IMAP conference will take place in Cape Town in Spring 2025.
