Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, has in the context of its succession planning decided on ISH International Sport Holding AG (Grenchen, Switzerland) as a new strategic partner. ISH will become the new majority shareholder in Bergamont, though Stefan Berkes will retain a sizable share of the company and continue to play a very active role as managing director. Both companies compliment each other perfectly in terms of the product portfolio and their geographic presence. Bergamont will be able to expand its international business operations while ISH will have the opportunity to strengthen considerably its market presence in Germany.

ISH is the parent company of the two Swiss businesses BMC Trading AG and SMT Swiss Manufacturing Technology AG. Under the BMC brand, premium race- and mountain-bikes are produced and sold worldwide. SMT is specialized in developing, manufacturing and sourcing bicycle components and bicycles. ISH Group is wholly owned by the Swiss entrepreneur Andy Rihs.
