IMAP is pleased to announce that TechnoPort, the depot services subsidiary of Gentco Logistics (Gentco), was acquired by Heniff Transportation Systems (Heniff).
The sales process was initiated to increase organisational focus on Gentco’s core business operations, being tank container logistics for liquid bulk chemicals solutions and to capitalise on the favourable market conditions and outlook regarding the growing demand for tank container solutions globally. The ever-increasing number of tank containers in the transport and logistics market drives demand for depot services. The number of tank containers is driven by the replacement of older tank containers as well as to satisfy the globally increasing demand for liquid bulk and liquified gas transport. The acquisition of TechnoPort marks Heniff’s first venture outside of the North American market.
Heniff, founded in 1998 by Bob Heniff is a family-owned business based in Oak Brook, Illinois. Heniff has over 100 connected locations across North America and operates 2,000 tractors and 5,000 trailers, specialising in liquid bulk transportation solutions, rail transloading, equipment maintenance, third-party logistics and depot services in the majority of the United States’ ports. Heniff’s depot services include cleaning, heating, testing, maintenance and storage services.
TechnoPort, founded in 2016, is a one-stop-shop depot services provider in the portof Moerdijk and is engaged in the cleaning, heating, storage, shunting and maintenance services for liquid bulk tank containers. TechnoPort cleans over 6,000 tank containers per year and can store up to 600 tank containers. TechnoPort is strategically located between the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp with ample barging connections to neighbouring areas, such as the Maasvlakte and Germany, as well as rail and short-sea connections.
Gentco, part of the Junzheng Group, is a globally active supplier and distributor of liquid chemicals, specialising in logistics services to its customers. Its business scope encompasses shipping, tank containers, storage tank terminals, all with emphasising liquid chemicals, which developed into a complete liquid chemicals logistics chain and a global business network.
The IMAP Netherlands team, led by Remco Schouten, Remco van Gulijk and Rens Wisman, was Gentco’s exclusive financial advisor on the divestiture of TechnoPort.
