Geis Group ("GEIS"), based in Bad Neustadt, Germany, has acquired the air and sea freight company Apextrans AG, based in Glattbrugg, Switzerland, as part of a succession plan. In the meantime, the company has been integrated into General Transport AG, in which GEIS has bundled its Swiss operations.

The Geis Group's service portfolio covers classic truck transport, global air and sea freight, and complex logistics services. Complementary IT expertise completes the service portfolio. These services are provided throughout Europe in close cooperation with efficient partners. In Switzerland, GEIS is represented by General Transport AG, acquired in 2011, with more than 100 employees at the locations in Basel and Zurich. The company's presence was expanded with the acquisition of Apextrans AG, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Zurich-Kloten Airport. Founder Ernst Weber has therefore arranged his succession: "For more than 30 years, we have been contributing to the success of our customers with our logistics services. Logistics is our passion, and customer satisfaction is our greatest motivation. We are pleased to have found a buyer in the family-owned company GEIS, which offers our customers and employees great prospects for the future."
