IMAP is pleased to announce that Synergy Health Utrecht, a pharmaceutical analytical GMP Laboratory testing provider was acquired by Normec Group, an Astorg backed testing, inspection, certification, and compliance company. 

After successfully carving out Synergy Health Utrecht from its former owner Steris, FIELDS Group was looking to sell the business to a strong partner in order to realize Synergy’s further potential and commence its next growth phase.

Normec, a Dutch Astorg backed Testing, Inspection, Certification, and Compliance company, currently operates from 30 European sites with approximately 4,000 employees. Through four specialized business lines, Normec offers TICC services for Life Safety, Sustainability, Healthcare, and Food. Normec is executing an active buy and build strategy, having completed numerous acquisitions recently. Synergy Health Utrecht is one of the first acquisitions by Normec in the Healthcare sector and provides the company with the necessary frameworks and support to grow and develop its healthcare business line in the coming years.

Synergy Health Utrecht, with over 60 years of history, has evolved into an established name in the pharmaceutical analytical testing market. The company is particularly specialized in chemical and microbiological testing of pharmaceuticals. After the acquisition by FIELDS Group in February 2021, Synergy Health Utrecht moved into a new laboratory facility in Nieuwegein , the Netherlands. The company employs approximately 40 employees.
