Thurmed AG, owner of the Thurgau Hospital Group with the two cantonal hospitals in Frauenfeld and Münsterlingen, the Thurgau Psychiatric Services and the St. Katharinental Rehabilitation Clinic, is selling Wäscherei Bodensee AG to the Elis Group. In the fiercely competitive laundry market, Elis has specialized know-how and corresponding competitive advantages thanks to its flexible capacities. The thurmed Group sees long-term advantages in the integration of its traditional laundry into a larger group. The sale will ensure the long-term competitiveness and continued existence of the laundry business with around 220 employees at the two sites in Münsterlingen and Pfaffnau. Elis, based in Paris, is the European market leader with 55,000 employees and a turnover of 4.3 billion euros. In Switzerland, Elis is represented at 15 locations with a total of over 900 employees and processes a volume of 665 tons per week.
