IMAP Portugal advises EDA on creating its inaugural Green Financing Framework

IMAP is pleased to announce that EDA, a regional utility group, successfully completed its green financing certification in April 2023, reinforcing its commitment towards a low-carbon energy model. EDA’s business comprises power generation, and the distribution and supply of electricity, serving circ. 125k clients in the Azores.
IMAP played a key role in this outcome, providing close support to EDA in mapping its eligible expenditure projects against the relevant taxonomy, in developing its green financing framework, and in obtaining a favourable second-party opinion from Sustainalytics.
With this certification, EDA will continue to play a key role in Azores’ sustainable growth. It also brings the company’s financial strategy in closer alignment with its sustainability strategy. Furthermore, EDA can issue green financial instruments enabling them to finance and refinance projects to reduce GHG emissions and improve energy efficiency in the community.
