IMAP is pleased to announce that MPA Morrison Park Advisors – IMAP Canada and Summa Advisors – IMAP Peru acted as exclusive financial advisor to Ascot Resources (“Ascot”) on the strategic equity investment by CcoriApu, providing CcoriApu with a 19.9% pro-forma equity interest in Ascot.

This strategic investment of C$50 million alongside a gold and silver streaming deal of US$100 million provided Ascot with the necessary funds to complete construction at the past producing Premier Gold Project in British Columbia, Canada.

Ascot is a Canadian junior exploration and development company focused on re-starting the past producing Premier gold mine, located on Nisga’a Nation Treaty Lands, in British Columbia’s prolific Golden Triangle. Ascot shares trade on the TSX under the ticker AOT.

CcoriApu’s shareholders are the majority shareholders of Compañía Minera Poderosa S.A., a publicly traded gold mining company listed on the Lima Stock Exchange. Poderosa operates one of the largest gold mines in Peru.

MPA Morrison Park Advisors (“MPA”) and Summa Advisors (“SUMMA”) collaborated equally on this transaction relying on MPA’s expertise in mining and the Canadian capital markets and SUMMA’s relationships and deal experience in Peru.

The team, led by Stephen Altmann and Carlos Garcia, acted as joint financial advisor to Ascot. MPA’s and SUMMA’s role in this transaction, which is one of the largest strategic mining investments in Canada announced in 2022, is an excellent representation of their capability to transact on difficult cross-border situations, to source capital and match with the ideal partner.
