IMAP Netherlands advises on sale of pharma specialized freight forwarder CyberFreight to Hitachi Transport Systems

IMAP is pleased to announce that CyberFreight, a full-service freight forwarder and logistics provider with strong expertise in pharmaceuticals and medical equipment and supplies, was acquired by the Japanese logistics service provider Hitachi Transport System.

CyberFreight, founded in 1999 by Jacques van den Berg, is specialized in freight forwarding (air and ocean freight), warehousing and distribution services for highly sensitive, high-value, pharmaceutical, and food-grade products. The company operates a warehouse in close proximity to Schiphol airport. CyberFreight is one of the few companies that can offer all pharma logistics services in the Netherlands, including medicines that require storage up to minus 80℃. The Company has a total of 75 employees and was looking for a strategic partner to accelerate its strong growth in the pharmaceutical market.

Hitachi Transport System (HTS) is a leading global provider of logistics services based in Japan. HTS comprises 94 different companies with more than 45,600 employees at 763 locations worldwide. HTS is focused on providing smart and efficient logistics solutions that deliver tangible benefits to its customers. The medical sector is a strong focus area for HTS. The company is promoting initiatives to build a high-quality supply chain for temperature-controlled transportation of pharmaceuticals and CyberFreight is a highly complementary platform in Europe.

During the process, Hitachi Transport System was assisted by Pinnacle Inc. in Japan. The efficient lines of communication with the team from Pinnacle allowed the process to keep running smoothly from start to finish.
