IMAP Netherlands advises Parcom on the acquisition of RECO

The Reigwein family and investment company Parcom have reached an agreement for Parcom to acquire RECO, a specialist in equipment rental for the business market. With Parcom as a partner, RECO's management aims to continue its current growth strategy and company culture. The focus for the coming years will be on sustainable growth in equipment rental, with the goal of becoming the go-to partner for all equipment needs for RECO's business clients. The acquisition will not bring any changes for employees, customers, suppliers, and partners.

RECO is a Dutch family business based in Koudekerk aan den Rijn, with 280 employees. For over 70 years, RECO has been the specialist in renting equipment to the business market through an extensive equipment package. RECO combines equipment rental for sectors such as construction, rail & infrastructure, industry, maritime, and government with technical advice and additional services. Through expert advice from its specialists and a wide range of products, RECO provides complete solutions for every project. As a family business, RECO works with short lines of communication and personal contact, ensuring quick responses and reliability for its customers.

Parcom is a Dutch investment company founded in 1982 that supports entrepreneurs and management teams in realizing their ambitions and guides them through phases of sustainable growth or transformation. Parcom combines thorough and solid analysis with pragmatic and creative solutions. Parcom is convinced that people make the difference and stands ‘hands-by’ alongside the management teams of its partner companies.

RECO has ambitious plans for the future. After 70 successful years under the leadership of the Reigwein family, the family and current management believe it is time for the next phase of growth. Parcom paves the way for further expansion of the current proposition within the Netherlands and the UK, as well as further non-organic growth through acquisitions. This partnership provides the strength to invest further in new product groups for the business market, further geographic expansions within the Netherlands and the UK, and to become a leading provider of sustainable solutions in temporary energy supplies.

The RECO Lift Solutions division in Waddinxveen, which focuses on the rental of temporary passenger lifts, emergency lifts, and stair lifts, will not transfer to Parcom but will be continued by Robin Reigwein with its approximately 30 employees.

Robin Reigwein, RECO: “I have great confidence in Parcom as a partner for RECO's next growth phase. The input and experience of the Parcom team will be a great addition to the management team. Moreover, they recognize the strength of RECO’s dynamic and decisive (family) business culture and want to preserve it. I will remain actively involved with RECO Lift Solutions. I look forward to working with that team to capitalize on international opportunities and continue to grow, while also maintaining close cooperation with RECO.”

Willem-Jan Merckel, Parcom: “We are very pleased to invest in RECO and become a partner of the management. We are impressed by the development RECO has undergone since its founding by the Reigwein family. The company offers a unique proposition to business customers, based on relieving customers of their equipment needs. We look forward to supporting the company in its further development.”

The IMAP Netherlands team, led by Dennis van der Linde, was Parcom's financial advisor on the sale of RECO.
