Groupement Les Mousquetaires and the Casino group signed an agreement to sell a portfolio of 119 points of sale (in two waves with a third optional additional tranche of around 60 stores). A first wave of 61 stores generating a store turnover of €563 million excluding tax was transferred to the Les Mousquetaires Group in September, 2023. The transferred stores, of various formats (Hypermarkets, Supermarkets, Franprix, Convenience stores) include around 4,000 employees and are spread throughout France. 

The Casino group also signed a sales promise for the sale of a second perimeter of points of sale representing €510 million in turnover excluding tax over a maximum period of 3 years. Groupement Les Mousquetaires acquired a non-controlling stake of 49% in these points of sale.

Finally, the Les Mousquetaires Group has undertaken, via a promise to purchase, to acquire from the Casino group an additional volume of stores representing €437 million in turnover excluding tax over a period of three years.

Created in 1898, the Casino group is one of the main players in the global food distribution market with around 12,000 stores and a net turnover of €33.6 billion in 2022. The group has more than 200,000 employees , has an extensive portfolio of brands (Casino Supermarchés, Géant Casino, Petit Casino, Monoprix, Franprix, Vival, Spar, Naturalia, Leader Price, Assai, Pão de Açúcar, etc.) and is present in France and Latin America.
