He began his career at Arthur Andersen (later Garrigues) where he spent 4 years providing legal advice, essentially in the tax and company law fields. He later served as General Manager at Arrillaga Group for a further 4 year period.
In 2003 he was appointed Executive Chairman of the Urola Kosta Municipality Association, which provides both environmental and business services as the Regional Development Agency.
In 2007 he took up the post of Environmental Manager at the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, driving initiatives and policies in favor of energy transition, likewise the construction of strategic infrastructures, e.g. the Gipuzkoa Energy Recovery Facility.
In 2012 he was appointed Energy & Industrial Administration Director for the Basque Government. In 2015 he assumed his functions as Deputy Industry Minister and took part in the design and implementation of the Basque industrial policy.
He has been Chairman of the Basque Company, Ekarpen Investment Company, the Basque Country Network of Technology Parks, and the Basque Trade & Investment Company. Furthermore, he has been a board member of the Basque Business Development Agency (SPRI), the Basque Energy Agency (EVE), and, last but not least, the Basque Finance Institute, among others.
He joined IMAP Albia Capital in 2021 and as Corporate Development Director.
Law Graduate from Deusto University with a Master in Taxation at Arthur Andersen.
