IT service provider INTERSTELLAR takes a significant step in its growth strategy with the acquisition of managed services provider Felton. This acquisition strengthens the growth ambitions of both parties, enabling them to better support their clients in transitioning to an innovative and stable IT environment. With the addition of Felton, INTERSTELLAR, with 700 employees and €165 million in revenue, becomes the leading provider for mid-sized organizations and institutions in the areas of modern workplace, cloud, and cybersecurity.
Next Phase for Felton
Felton, as a managed services provider, has over 35 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing secure and modern IT infrastructures. The 80 employees work from the office in Amersfoort, serving clients throughout the Netherlands. Since 2020, Felton has been part of the portfolio of TIIN Capital, which supported the IT company’s growth through the Dutch Security TechFund and helped bring it to the next phase, including its merger with Lantech. INTERSTELLAR, formed in 2021 from various portfolio companies of investment firm Quadrum Capital, is now acquiring all shares. Felton's management will remain in place after the acquisition, and founder Stan Bridié will also continue as an advisor.
Strengthening the Portfolio
Felton aims to further grow in the areas of cloud and security as part of INTERSTELLAR and to leverage the group’s economies of scale. For INTERSTELLAR, the acquisition strengthens its portfolio, increases its market share in the midmarket, and expands its presence in central Netherlands.
Maarten van Montfoort, CEO of INTERSTELLAR, commented on the acquisition of Felton: “We aim to be the most relevant IT service provider in the Netherlands for our customers. We achieve this by bringing in the right knowledge and expertise and continuously developing our competencies, both autonomously and through acquisitions. Felton’s DNA aligns perfectly with this. The company culture fits well with INTERSTELLAR’s organization, as do the clients, the portfolio, and the shared Microsoft-first strategy. We at INTERSTELLAR are very much looking forward to serving our customers together with the Felton team.”
Marnix van der Moolen, CEO of Felton, added: “TIIN Capital has developed Felton over the past few years to where we are now. With INTERSTELLAR, we gain a strategic shareholder. This allows us to continue growing and strengthen our proposition in the areas of security and cloud.”
The IMAP Netherlands team, led by Dennis van der Linde, was the exclusive financial advisor to INTERSTELLAR in the acquisition of Felton.
